I have had sick kids for 2 months. Yes, you read that right. TWO MONTHS!!!!! Don't believe me, read my facebook! From the day after he left, we have had rhino virus, flu, colds, pneumonia, a PLETHORA of doctor visits and enough Motrin bought that I think I am now on the FBI watch list for drug use because clearly I am inventing SOMETHING because NO ONE could need that much Motrin, right? Wrong. I have been on laundry and survival mode. And by the way I think I might be addicted to caps lock...hmmm something to think about for later.
I keep telling everyone that the rest of this deployment will be like butter since the first couple of months have been a special slice of hell. I am seriously considering forever refering to this time in my life as P-U-K-E-L-A-N-D 2013!!!!! I lived through it and didn't even get a T shirt!
That is where I have been, and although I may bore you with details and amazingly funny but gross stories as time goes on, for the moment I am looking forward!
*Annnnnnnnd cut scene to present day*
So my first day out, courtesy of my mil who came to visit,(Bless that woman, she does laundry!!!) was to none other than Spouses Summit 2013! (http://spousesummit.com)
Excuse me? Huh? What the hell is that? Right?!?!?!??! Yes, that would have been my response! My hubby has been in the military for 16 years, and I am a key spouse, how the HELL did I NOT know about this!!! So L,
So we arrive with an idea of covered topics but lets be honest, NO FREAKING CLUE! I was blown away!!! Watch this! http://www.military.com/video/family-and-spouse/support/welcome-to-the-military-spouse-summit/2297267509001/
YOU have to go, not an option, not a debate, if you are a spouse you have to go. Period. I was blown away by the info AND the fact that we had fun! They fed us, they danced us, and considering my hubby has been deployed for almost 3 months, it was damn near a date! I am so overwhelmed and excited about this, we are going to another event in May and then trying to get them to come to our base to do an event. My head is spinning! I have so many damn ideas to help our spouses to get this info and to make sure that this is better spread around. Gah...
I know, I am overwhelming you now also! So you have questions about this, shoot them over, I probably won't have answers but I will help you find them! I am rambling and tired, so I am off to make dinner, compose my thoughts and pull apart the youngest two who I can hear screaming and hope that there is minimal blood, this time.
*Random idea for the day, when Skype freezes or you have a bad connection, dress up your spouse, it kills time and makes my damn day! (I am thinking of holding up baby clothes next time to make him PREEEEEEETTTYYYYYY)
Love you baby, stay safe.
